Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add blueberries, brown sugar, orange zest + juice, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
Stir and simmer 8–10 minutes, until the berries burst and the mixture turns thick and jammy.
Mash lightly with a fork or spoon — you want some texture, not a purée.
Cool completely before adding to any recipe.
