Start by sauteing the onions and garlic in oil. Add in carrots, celery, potatoes, pickles and stir. Add your seasonings.
Add ham and add chicken broth until the pot is filled, and pour in some pickle juice. Stir afterwards and set to a simmer for 15-20 mins.
While this simmers, make the sour cream mixture by mixing it together with flour.
Pour the mixture into the soup, add cheddar and chopped dill.
Serve with more dill and pickles and enjoy!
