Pre-heat your oven to 180C Fan/400F/Gas Mark 6, and line a few baking trays with baking paper.
Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, mix the dairy free butter, caster sugar and light brown soft sugar together until fluffy and paler in colour (3-5 minutes).
Add the dairy free milk, orange zest and orange extract, and mix them in.
Add the plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt and mix until just combined.
Add the chocolate chips and mix briefly to evenly distribute them.
Divide the dough into portions (63g per cookie for 14 cookies).
Roll balls of the cookie dough, flatten them slightly and place onto lined baking trays, leaving space between the cookies.
Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes, remove from the oven and place a piece of dairy free chocolate orange on top of each one.
Leave to cool on the trays for at least 10 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.
