In a bowl, mix milk, oil, sugar, yeast, and egg. Mix well, then add the flour and mix again until combined.
Cover and rest for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle salt on top (do not mix).
Stretch and fold the dough like an envelope.
Rest 15 minutes, then stretch and fold again.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled.
Divide into 7 buns, and shape them like shown in the video. Keep turning them very well so they won't open up or explode while baking.
Place on a tray with parchment paper, cover and rise 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).
Brush with egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp milk. Add sesame seeds if desired.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Cover with a kitchen towel and let cool completely before serving.
