Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk together chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Pour over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.
Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
Stir in sour cream until fully combined. Let it cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Spoon the creamy chicken and gravy over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.
