Homemade Crackers
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C. Line a baking tray with baking paper and set aside

  2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl

  3. Stir in the seeds and white pepper

  4. Add the butter and rub it into the flour using your fingertips, until it roughly resembles crumbs

  5. Make a well in the centre of the flour and add the chilled water. Bring the ingredients together to form a dough with your hands. Add a little more water if needed

  6. Handle the dough as little as possible and do not knead. Divide the dough into two portions

  7. Roll out each portion of dough between two sheets of baking paper and cut into rounds using a cookie cutter

  8. Transfer the cut dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Prick them all over using a fork and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 25 minutes. Repeat till all the dough has been used up

  9. Once baked, let the crackers cool completely. Serve with jam or cheese
