Preheat your oven to 425°F.
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and garlic salt, cooking until browned and fully crumbled.
Drain excess grease and remove from heat.
Spread uncooked rice evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Add the browned ground beef on top of the rice.
Pour in beef consommé, French onion soup, and water.
Stir everything together for even distribution.
Cut ¾ cup butter into slices and place them evenly over the mixture.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb the liquid and develop a slight crust.
Once done, fluff the rice with a fork to mix everything evenly.
