Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Mix chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and 1 cup cheddar until smooth.
Spread mixture evenly in the baking dish.
Top with crushed crackers and remaining ½ cup cheddar.
Bake uncovered 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
