In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
In another bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough. If it gets too sticky oil your hands and continue kneading. Once it's all come together, cover and rest the dough for 15 minutes. Add softened butter a little at a time and knead again until the dough is smooth and elastic. You can use a stand mixer to do all the hard work for you, I find it makes the process a lot easier.
Cover and let it rise for 1.5-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Divide the dough into small balls and place them close together in a greased baking tray. Cover with cling film and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Brush the dough with some milk and bake for 12-15 minutes at 200c or until the tops are golden brown.
Brush the tops with melted butter and let them cool slightly.
