In a large pan, brown the 1 ½ lbs ground beef, 1 medium onion, diced, and 2 tbsp garlic.
Season the beef with 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
In a separate bowl, mix together the 16 oz cottage cheese, ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped, ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped, 1 egg, and salt.
Add the 8 oz softened cream cheese to the cottage cheese mixture.
Layer the ingredients 3 times in a baking dish, starting with the pasta sauce, then the lasagna noodles, cottage cheese mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
Top with grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
