Bún Chả
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 grams of ground pork with 3 tablespoons of fish sauce, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic, and 1 tablespoon of chopped shallots. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. Shape the seasoned pork into small patties or balls.

  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the pork patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are cooked through and have a slight char for added flavor.

  4. In a small saucepan, warm 1 cup of water and dissolve 4 tablespoons of sugar, then allow to cool slightly.

  5. Add 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, 4 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of chili garlic sauce. Adjust the chili sauce to your desired level of spiciness.

  6. Stir the sauce well to combine all ingredients.

  7. Place a generous serving of cooked rice vermicelli in each bowl.

  8. Top with a mix of fresh herbs, shredded lettuce, julienned carrot, and sliced cucumber.

  9. Arrange grilled pork patties neatly on top.

  10. Serve the dipping sauce on the side for diners to drizzle over the dish as they prefer.
