Preheat oven to 350º F. Spray or grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.

Mix the milk and cooled melted butter and pour evenly over the top of the cake and pudding mix.
Use a spatula to gently combine. You don’t need to make it into a batter, just get enough of the liquid to the bottom and throughout the cake mix so it bakes evenly.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
Bake for 40 minutes or until completely set and a tester comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
