Rice And Beef In The Rice Cooker
  1. Wash the Rice: Add the rice to the rice cooker pot and rinse it thoroughly until the water runs mostly clear.

  2. Add Water & Seasoning: Add water using a 1:1 ratio with the rice (adjust to your preference). Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Stir gently to combine.

  3. Add the Beef: Place thinly sliced beef evenly on top of the rice mixture. No need to stir — the beef will cook nicely on top.

  4. Cook: Close the lid and start the rice cooker on a regular white rice cycle. Let it cook fully.

  5. Finish & Serve: Once it's done cooking, add a small cube of butter and mix everything together gently. Optional toppings: Add corn, black sesame seeds, or chopped green onions for extra flavor and color. (Skip these if serving picky eaters — like my son!)
