Chocolate Cake With 1 Egg
  1. Line an 8x8 square pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar until combined.

  4. Add egg, oil, and Carnation Evaporated Milk. Whisk to combine, then mix in with the dry ingredients. Slowly pour in the hot water and whisk until smooth.

  5. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Tap against the counter to get any air bubbles out.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Place on a cooling rack and prepare the frosting.

  8. In a medium bowl, add butter and vanilla. Beat using a hand mixer for a minute until smooth. Add cocoa, powder, sugar, vanilla, and 2 Tbsp of Carnation Milk. Start on the lowest setting and keep it low until the sugar is incorporated. Increase the speed to medium-high for another 30-45 seconds until the frosting is nice and fluffy. If the frosting is too thick, add more Carnation Milk until the desired consistency is reached.

  9. Lift the cake out of the pan using the parchment paper and remove the parchment paper. Place on a square serving plate.

  10. Once the cake is cool, frost it with chocolate buttercream or your favorite frosting recipe, and enjoy!
