Preheat oven to 350
Cream together butter and sugar , add in eggs and vanilla and mix until well blended.
Pour flour over mixture and sprinkle salt and baking powder over flour mix together to form a smooth dough. 4. Wrap dough in Saran Wrap or ziplock bag, flatten a bit and chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
Work with ½ the dough at a time (leave other half in fridge until you are ready to work with it).
Flour surface and roll out dough to desired thickness (¼ and cut. Cookies do not spread so can be placed fairly close on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for approx. 10 min. Watch for light brown at bottom edge of cookies , main part of cookie will remain white, do not overcook.
Cool and decorate.
Edit** the book instructions say 400 degree oven for 6-8 min, but at some point over the years I switched to 350 for 10 min 🤷♀️ not sure when or why lol
