Apple Pie
  1. Cut shortening into flour and salt with a mixer until crumbly

  2. Sprinkle in water 1 tablespoon at a time until the pastry forms a ball

  3. Divide in half and roll into a round shape

  4. Heat oven 425

  5. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, tapioca and salt

  6. Stir in apples

  7. Turn into pastry lined pie plate, dot with margarine

  8. Cover with top crust that has slits in it or weave on top, Seal edges

  9. Cover edges with foil and bake 40-50 minutes. Remove foil during the last 15 minutes
