Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler Camping Recipe
  1. In a non-reactive large bowl, combine the blueberries, ¼ cup sugar and orange juice, tossing gently to mix and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the butter, ¾ cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla, then set aside.

  3. Preheat a 12 inch cast iron Dutch oven to bake at 350 degrees (25 total coals = 17 top / 8 bottom).

  4. Pour the blueberry mixture into the pre-heated Dutch oven.

  5. Drop the topping on top of the berries, about 1 tablespoon each and scatter them evenly over the berries.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees covered until the berries are bubbly and the cobbler is cooked through … this will take approximately 40 – 50 minutes. Make sure you turn the oven and lid in opposite directions about ¼ turn every 15 minutes or so for even baking.

  7. Remove the Dutch oven from the coals, uncover it and let this yummy camping blueberry cobbler cool slightly before serving it.
