  1. Make Meatballs Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly coat a 15×10-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl beat egg with a fork. Stir in dry bread crumbs, finely chopped onion, milk, and salt and black pepper. Add ground beef and ground pork; mix well. Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs. Place meatballs in prepared pans. Bake until meatballs are cooked through (160°F), 12 to 15 minutes. Drain off fat.

  2. Cook Pasta Cook pasta according to package directions.

  3. Prep Onions Meanwhile, in a 4-qt. pot melt 1 Tbsp. of the butter over medium-high. Add onion; cook until tender and lightly browned, 6 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a plate; reserve for topping

  4. Finish Soup Add remaining 4 Tbsp. butter to pot; stir until melted. Stir in flour, nutmeg, and allspice until combined. Add beef broth. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, 8 to 10 minutes. Add meatballs and pasta; heat through. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir in sour cream until combined. Top servings with the sautéed red onion, dill (if using), and additional black pepper.
