Barbecued Ribs
  1. Melt shortening in Dutch oven; brown ribs; remove.

  2. Add onion, celery, green peppers, jalapeños, garlic; sauté 5 minutes.

  3. Add remaining ingredients.

  4. Return ribs to oven; spoon sauce over ribs; cover.

  5. Cook until meat is tender (approx. 2 hours), occasionally basting meat.
