Melt butter and add bacon
Add diced onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and a pinch of salt
Add garlic to the mixture
Add 2 cans of pinto beans that have been cooking for about 15 minutes
Pour in homemade chicken broth and let simmer for 10-15 minutes
Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth
Pour the blended mixture back into the pot to thicken
Top with melted or shredded cheese
Serve warm
