Make a large box of vanilla pudding per the instructions.
Once the pudding is set, fold in a regular size container of cool whip.
Layer the pudding and cool whip mixture with Graham crackers.
For the topping, stir together ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup milk, and ¼ cup cocoa powder until bubbly.
Add a handful of chocolate chips and 5 tbsp butter, and stir until combined and shiny.
Pour the topping over the layered dessert.
Refrigerate the dessert.
