Cut tofu in slices.
Toss tofu with corn starch and salt.
Fry tofu in some oil until browned on each side.
Remove tofu from the pan.
Sauté scallions, ginger, garlic, and red chili for a few minutes.
Add soy sauce, syrup or sugar, and water.
Let it bubble for 3-4 mins.
Add in the tofu and cook it until nice and glossy.
Serve with rice and veggies.
