Hainanese Chicken Rice In Rice Cooker
  1. Wash your rice!!

  2. Marinade chicken wings with turmeric, salt, sesame oil, water, oyster sauce; massage well and set aside for 10 minutes.

  3. Mash up garlic, peel ginger, and chop scallions into big segments.

  4. Layer everything into rice cooker in this order: rice, salted chicken stock (1:1 ratio rice and stock depending on how many you are serving), ginger, garlic, chicken, and scallion.

  5. Set rice cooker to 'cook' or 'mixed rice' setting.

  6. Make the sauce while you wait: mince garlic and shallots, chop up scallions, then heat up some neutral oil and pour over the aromatics.

  7. Once the rice cooker is done, serve hot with dressing and vegetable of your choice.
