Combine the agar agar and water in a saucepan and let sit for 5 minutes.
Turn the heat to high and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
Cook for 2-3 minutes, then add the sugar and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Turn off the heat and add the candy flavor oil and citric acid.
Divide the mixture into thirds and color each portion with airbrush colors.
Pour the colored mixtures into a greased 8x8 glass dish, creating swirls and designs.
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
Remove from the fridge and cut the candy into crystal shapes using a sharp knife.
Place the cut crystals on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
Let the crystals sit out for 4 days, flipping them over after 2 days.
Once fully dried, decorate the crystals with luster dust mixed with a clear alcohol or extract.
