Peel, core and slice your apples and pop them into a baking dish.
Sprinkle over the soft brown sugar and cinnamon, then give everything a good mix.
In a bowl, add the flour, caster sugar and baking powder.
Rub in the 100g butter with your fingertips until you have a crumbly mixture.
Add the milk and mix lightly — you want a rough, crumbly cake topping rather than a smooth batter.
Scatter the mixture over the apples.
Bake until the topping is golden and the apples are soft and bubbling underneath. 180 for about twenty mins - ish.
