Homemade Yogurt
  1. Heat the milk to 180 degrees using an instant pot, crock pot, or Dutch oven.

  2. Immediately cool the milk down to 120 degrees, using an ice bath or letting it sit on the counter.

  3. Add the yogurt starter (3 tablespoons of previous batch of yogurt per 0.5 gallons of milk).

  4. Let the yogurt set for 12-16 hours, keeping the temperature at 120 degrees (use the yogurt setting on an instant pot or place it in a warm oven or wrap it in a towel).

  5. Whisk or blend the set yogurt to make it smooth, then store it in the fridge.
