  1. Boil sweet potatoes until soft (approximately 12–15 minutes).

  2. Drain well and mash with butter, milk, salt, pepper, and cinnamon until thick and smooth.

  3. Heat oil and sauté onion, garlic, and carrot until soft.

  4. Add spices and tomato paste; cook for 1 minute.

  5. Stir in flour to thicken.

  6. Add crushed tomatoes and chicken broth; simmer for 3–4 minutes until thick.

  7. Stir in shredded chicken, lentils, and frozen mixed vegetables. Simmer for 2 minutes.

  8. Transfer filling to a greased 8×8 inch dish.

  9. Spread mashed sweet potatoes on top.

  10. Sprinkle Parmesan evenly over the top, with extra on the edges for crispiness.

  11. Bake at 205°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbling.

  12. Optional: broil for 1–2 minutes for extra golden top.
