Pork Noodle Stir-fry

Accessible recipe rewritten for people with ADHD and/or ASD.

    Vegetable Mix

    Example stir-fry vegetables: snow peas, baby sweetcorn, beansprouts, carrots, and capsicum.

  1. Prepare stir-fry vegetables.

  2. Roughly combine stir-fry vegetables with garlic and ginger. Can be kept in a container and refrigerated for later.

    Paste Mix

  1. Create paste mix by mixing soy sauce with the cornflour to make a paste. Can be kept in a container and refrigerated for later.

    Liquid Mix

  1. Create liquid mix by mixing soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, and water to create liquid mix. Can be kept in a container and refrigerated for later.

    Stir-fry

    The stir-fry is the combination of the meat, vegetable mix, paste mix, liquid mix, and noodles so have them all ready. Do not remove ingredients from the pan, they should be combined with each step.

  1. Heat oil in a wok or frying pan.

  2. Read the next step first as it will overlap with this step. Add the mince, break it up with a spoon and fry over a high heat for about 8 mins until it browns. Undercook slightly.

  3. This step will overlap with the previous step. Boil a kettle. Follow instructions on noodle packet to cook noodles. Undercook. Try to time it so it will be ready immediately after the next step.

  4. Add the vegetable mix to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 mins. Undercook.

  5. Drain the noodles.

  6. Do this step quickly. Stir the paste mix again to ensure it is a paste. Stir the paste mix into the liquid mix to create sauce.

  7. Add the noodles and the sauce to the pan and stir-fry. Cook until the sauce coats the noodles. Be careful not to overcook. Add a splash of water if it looks too dry.

  8. Serve.
