Tofu Bacon
  1. Combine all the ingredients for the marinade in a large bowl.

  2. Slice the tofu into thin strips using either a sharp knife, mandolin, or cheese slicer.

  3. Dip each tofu strip in the marinade and coat thoroughly. Let the excess drip off.

  4. Preheat oven to 375 F / 190 C.

  5. Line a large baking sheet either with parchment paper or a wire rack. After dipping tofu slices, add to the baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes and flip. Bake for another 15 - 25 minutes, checking every 10 minutes or so to make sure you don't burn them.

  7. If you start to see any blackened edges, that's a good sign to pull them out. Don't worry if they aren't super crispy at this point. They will crisp up as they cool, so let them rest for a few minutes before digging in!

  8. Spray the Air Fryer basket or tray with a little oil. Add as many slices of tofu bacon as possible without them overlapping.

  9. Air fry at 375 F / 190 C for 6 minutes. Flip and Air Fry for another 6 minutes or until crispy. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don't burn! They will crisp up more as they cool, so let them cool for a few minutes before digging in!

  10. Slice the tofu thin. Spray with some cooking oil, and Air Fry at 375 for about 8 - 10 minutes or until they are browned and crispy.

  11. Make a simplified Marinade with 1 Tbsp Vegan Mayo, 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce, ½ tsp Liquid Smoke, 1 Tbsp Vegan Worcestershire, 1 tsp Sriracha, 1 tsp MSG or Salt to taste.

  12. Dip the air fried tofu slices in the marinade and cover thoroughly. Add back to the Air Fryer and continue to Air Fry for 2 - 3 minutes, keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
