  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and red food coloring. Mix until smooth.

  4. Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just blended.

  5. Scoop 2-inch rounds of batter onto the sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes. Cool completely.

  6. Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy to make frosting.

  7. Pipe frosting on one cookie, top with another, and roll edges in candied walnuts.

  8. Decorate tops with berries and rosemary sprigs. Dust with powdered sugar.
