Add the dry ingredients to a bowl and stir to combine
Add the frozen butter and incorporate well.
Add half of the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Add in the second half and stir to combine.
Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Shape the dough into a rectangle and roll it out lengthwise. Fold it oven top to bottom, rotate it 90 degrees and repeat 5 more times.
Cut the dough into eight even pieces
Place the pieces on a baking tray and brush with egg wash.
Bake at 375F for 35 mins.
