Fresh Apple Cinnamon Scones
  1. Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and spice.

  2. Add cold butter and work into the flour mixture until unevenly crumbly.

  3. Stir in chopped apple and cinnamon chips.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla, and applesauce.

  5. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until moistened.

  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment and sprinkle with flour.

  7. Divide dough in half and shape into circles about ¾" thick.

  8. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture.

  9. Slice each circle into 6 wedges and separate slightly.

  10. Freeze for 30 minutes, then preheat oven to 425°F.

  11. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.

  12. Cool briefly on the pan before transferring to a rack.
