Ingredients
Mix all ingredients to form a stiff dough. (Can do by hand or in a stand mixer. If using mixer dough should be mixed on a low speed until it forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.)
Place dough in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise until doubled. Overnight works well.
Punch down and knead a few times.
Divide into two or three parts.
Shape each part into loaves or rolls.
Place in greased loaf pans or if making rolls place on a greased sheet pan.
Cover and allow second rise.
Bake at 350 degrees until the bread is 200- 205 degrees using a thermometer.
(25-30 minutes for three loaves. 40 minutes for two. 15-20 minutes for rolls.)
Spread melted butter over top after baking for a softer crust.
Cool loaves completely before cutting.
Store in bread bag covered in foil to prevent light.
Steps
Notes: Can freeze immediately after cooling. To reheat run water over the loaf and bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Bake rolls for less time.
