Preheat pan and melt 2 sticks of butter until completely melted
Transfer melted butter to its own bowl and let it cool
In a separate bowl, mix 340 grams all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and ¾ teaspoon salt
In another bowl, combine 200 grams light brown sugar, 133 grams granulated sugar, 2 egg yolks, 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract, and 140 grams sourdough discard
Add the cooled melted butter to the wet ingredients and stir together
Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix
Fold in chocolate chips to desired amount
Chill the dough for at least 1 hour (preferably a few hours)
Preheat oven to 350°F
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, removing from oven while cookies still look slightly raw in the middle
Cool and enjoy
