Preheat oven to 350°F
Cook the bacon in a large pan over medium heat. Once the bacon is cooked and crispy, transfer the bacon to a plate with some paper towel on it to soak up any excess grease. Set bacon aside until step 6.
Remove a majority of the bacon grease from pan- all but about 2 tablespoons.
Add the onions to the bacon grease and cook until transparent.
Add the beef, salt, and pepper to the hot pan and cook until crumbly stirring occasionally.
Add the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar and mix until well combined. Add in the beans and bringing everything to a simmer, stirring frequently.
Transfer the beans to a 9x13 pyrex dish and bake in the oven at 350°F for about 50 minutes. After 50 minutes, take the beans out of the oven and sprinkle the bacon on top and put the beans back in the oven for another 10 minutes to get the bacon nice and crispy on top. Let cool for about 10 minutes before eating.
