Orleans Bitters
  1. In a clean glass mason jar, place all your botanical, fruit, and bittering ingredients. Pour the high-proof alcohol over the top.

  2. Seal the jar tightly and give it a vigorous shake. Place the jar in a cool, dark place (like a pantry).

  3. Shake the jar daily for 2 to 3 weeks to ensure maximum extraction of flavors and aromas.

  4. After about 3 weeks, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into another clean glass container. Press down on the botanicals to extract all the liquid.

  5. Stir in the simple syrup or glycerin to help round out the sharp flavor and add body.

  6. Let the bitters rest for a few more days before transferring them to Amber Glass Dropper Bottles for easy use behind your home bar.
