In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and yeast.
Add the warm water, melted butter, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9-inch or 10-inch deep dish pizza pan or cast-iron skillet with butter or oil.
Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large circle (about 12–14 inches in diameter).
Transfer the dough to the prepared pan, pressing it up the sides to form a thick crust.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone (or Parmesan) cheese evenly over the dough.
Add your favorite toppings (e.g., Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms).
Spread the tomato sauce over the top, then sprinkle with oregano, basil, and garlic powder.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
Let the pizza cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
