French Onion Salisbury Steak
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, egg, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into 5 oval patties.

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized.

  4. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine. Slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

  5. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the onion gravy over the top. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Place a slice of Provolone cheese over each patty and continue to simmer until the cheese is melted.

  7. Serve the Salisbury steaks topped with Parmesan cheese and extra gravy.
