Remove bad leaves from cabbage and rinse well
Cut off the end of the cabbage
Cut cabbage in half and half again into quarters
Boil cabbage pieces for about 3 minutes
Cook 1 pound of ground beef and simmer in Bolognese sauce
Mix together 1 cup ricotta cheese, ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, 1 egg, and 5 finely chopped basil leaves
Spread a thin layer of Bolognese sauce on the bottom of baking dish
Layer boiled cabbage leaves (one leaf at a time)
Spread ricotta mixture evenly over cabbage
Add another layer of Bolognese sauce on top of ricotta
Repeat layering process until all ingredients are used
Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes
Top with fresh basil before serving
