Cheesy Beef Stuffed Potato Cakes
  1. Boil the peeled potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Drain and mash the potatoes well until smooth. Let them cool slightly.

  3. In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with flour, egg, salt, and pepper. Combine until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Set aside.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.

  5. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

  6. Stir in garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese. Let the mixture cool slightly.

  8. Divide the potato dough into equal portions (about 8-10 balls).

  9. Flatten each ball into a small round disc.

  10. Spoon a tablespoon of the beef mixture into the center of each disc.

  11. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch them to seal, forming a patty.

  12. Gently flatten the patty into a thick cake shape.

  13. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  14. Fry each potato cake until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  15. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
