Old-fashioned Oatmeal
  1. Combine 1 cup water (or milk) and pinch salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in ½ cup oats and reduce heat to medium; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Top with 2 tablespoons milk, 1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener, pinch of cinnamon and dried fruits or nuts, if desired.
