Mix together 2 cups all purpose flour, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, ¼ teaspoon salt, and 2 teaspoons baking powder
Add ½ cup cold unsalted butter cubes and work into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse cornmeal
Mix together ½ cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons sour cream, and 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined
Turn dough out onto a clean work surface and use your hands to bring it together into a dough ball
Pat the dough into a disc about 1 inch thick
Cut the disc into 8 wedges
Place scones on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Brush the tops with a little heavy cream
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch
While scones cool, make the glaze by mixing 1 ¼ cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste, and 1-5 tablespoons milk until you reach desired consistency
Drizzle glaze over cooled scones and let set for a few minutes before serving
