Mix wet ingredients first: add egg, peanut butter, and syrup, then stir thoroughly until smooth and fully combined
Add dry ingredients: add almond flour, protein powder, and baking powder, then mix until you get a smooth, thick batter
If too thick, add 1 tsp water or milk
Gently fold in chocolate chips without overmixing
Microwave on high (700–1000W) for 60–75 seconds for soft and gooey center, or 90–120 seconds for fully set cake-like texture
Let rest for 1 minute after microwaving to allow it to firm up
