Add 2 cups warm water to a bowl.
Add red food coloring and a little shimmer powder until you get a deep, glossy blood-red color.
Add the baking soda and mix until completely dissolved.
Slowly sift in the guar gum while whisking constantly to prevent clumps.
Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken up slightly, this is important before doing the next step or it may not come together.
Slowly add the contact lens solution, stirring continuously. Start with about 1 tbsp and add more a little at a time until the mixture begins to thicken and come together.
Gently knead or stir until smooth.
If it’s still too runny, add a few drops more contact solution. If it becomes too thick, add a little water and mix until it reaches the right consistency, it should be super jiggly but not sticky.
