Healthier Homemade Hamburger Helper
  1. Drop 1 pound of ground beef into pot and add 1 diced onion and 4 minced garlic cloves

  2. Brown the meat and break it up, then drain

  3. Add 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper, and stir until combined

  4. Add 3 cups chicken broth, 1 cup whole milk, and 1 can tomato sauce, and stir gently

  5. Add pasta and bring to a boil

  6. Continue stirring and cooking until almost all liquid is gone and pasta is soft

  7. Turn heat off and add 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, stirring to thicken and make creamy

  8. Serve in bowls and sprinkle with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes

  9. Optional: Mix 1 tablespoon melted butter with 1 cup bread crumbs

  10. Transfer pasta mixture to a greased 9x9 baking dish and cover with bread crumb mixture

  11. Bake at 350 degrees until crispy
