8/10
- We really enjoyed it, it was simple and filling. Leftovers were great too.
- Used McCain Smiles because we didn't have Tater Tots.
- It was very dense and starchy with the beans and potatoes
- Omitted step 4 entirely since since I can bake it directly in the pan I used to cook the meat. Why dirty another dish? Glad I didn't do it though, that would have definitely been too much potato for our liking.
- I put a cilantro-jalapeño crema on top of mine and it was made it better for me.
- Used Old El Paso original taco seasoning from the shaker, and needed to add more that recommended, probably about double. I eyeballed it to be honest (I suspect the shaker seasoning is less flavourful)
- I think next time I'll use a spicy taco seasoning, add some chili flakes or fresh jalapeños to give it some kick. I'll also try Tater Tots as per the recipe
