not terrible, but the crust is unevenly thick. the bottom is so hard i stopped trying to eat it, but the less burnt parts were surprisingly good with just a little butter on top.
i included the optional sugar, but otherwise basically followed the directions. the first time i make anything, i tend to stick to the recipe pretty strictly, to get a baseline, and understand the creator's intent. in a future take on this, i'm curious to see what dropping the extra sugar and adding fresh pineapple or something similar would be like, along with perhaps some water chestnuts. but, we enjoyed this quite a lot.
