Grease 12 muffin cups.
Combine cornmeal and milk.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Stir dry ingredients into cornmeal mixture.
Add one egg and butter to cornmeal mixture.
Add liquid to dry. Stir only until combined (mixture will appear lumpy).
Fill tins ½ full. Bake at 400 F for 20-25 minutes.
