I made this but with ditalini pasta instead. It seems like you're adding a lot of water, but the ditalini soaks up a lot of that so. just add it in. With the flavor, I wasn't a fan of the sweetness. I would try the same ingredients, leaving out the vinegar and brown sugar and try more of a spicy marinara sauce instead. Other than that, we really liked the noodles and the onions.
I made this for Thanksgiving. I honestly wasn't the biggest fan. Because of the large amount of cheese, it made it extremely oily. I made it the night before, and put it in the oven for the first time in the morning for Thanksgiving lunch, so maybe that could have affected it, but I don't plan an making this again. There were also soooo many leftovers, so if I did make it again, I would half it.
This was really really good. The top was nice and crispy and the chicken was pretty juicy. I did four potatoes, I would probably do 3, or even 2, next time, because we were uncomfortably full. I'm not sure if I used a full half cup of the dip, but it's important to remember that the more dip added, the soggier the breadcrumbs will come out, especially the side that is laying against the sheet pan the entire time in the oven. Very very delicious though, and Noah approved.
