very hearty, with whole wheat flour, flax, chia seeds, and quick oats. it uses milk (i went with whole milk, here), but can be made with non-dairy milk instead, which makes it vegan. it's lightly sweet on its own, with some maple syrup mixed in, but the optional ingredients can tilt it towards fruity, or chocolatey, as you please. i enjoyed two slices about an inch thick each with just some softened butter over the top. can also be dressed like pancakes or waffles, with some maple syrup or honey.
